It is the latest creation of Rezina laboratories, presented for the very first time at the Archiproducts Design Awards 2016.

This is the story of Proteus – a story imbued with inspiration and new goals in a visible form of matter, featuring Rezina’s signature style.

Proteus is a ready-to-use single-component protean resin. It’s eco-friendly status has an extremely low environmental impact, and is made of hydrophobic acrylic resins with high physical-chemical resistance. One of its main features is controlled drying speed and practically zero VOCs.

Proteus can be mixed with any type of powder or aggregate with either natural materials (sand), recycled materials (marble dust, lava dust, sandstone, earthenware, glass powder, shavings of aluminium foil or polyethylene, granite, etc.), or vegetable materials (with colours like coffee, corn flour, turmeric, curry, paprika, matcha tea) or even pure soil.

The final product will maintain, or alter in minimum the characteristics of the original aggregate – especially its colour and aesthetic impact.

Rezina pursues a culture of the senses, combining its high performance with visual, tactile, and even olfactory sensations. The material becomes a new sensory tool which invite us to explore spaces through intense, unexpected perceptions.

Proteus is designed as an exclusive wall coating, but when mixed with hard aggregates it can also be used as a coating for floors and shower walls, creating surfaces where design meets aesthetics.

Compared to other ecological resins, what distinguishes this product most is the possibility to use aggregates, from 100% to 150% by weight, from both recycling and industrial processes with a low environmental impact.

It is a step further, where ideas develop into matter, becoming part of environments that disclose emotion, intimacy, success and the ambition to make new discoveries.
